I have been working as a complementary health practitioner since 2002. However, my interest in health and well-being reaches further back than that.

Previously I worked in the fitness industry where the main focus is on the body’s physical needs. As part of the overall goal to achieve better health, my attention was then drawn to the emotional, mental and nutritional needs of a person. This is what brought me into complementary health and what I bring into my practice today.

Qualifying in reflexology coincided with a house move, and a quirky twist of fate landed me a job with the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), with whom I completed my training. This provided me with an invaluable insight into the business and gave me the opportunity to converse with some highly competent and well respected reflexologists.
Reflexology, Thai Foot Massage & Reiki are ‘holistic’ systems of healing, looking at the person as a whole and taking into account their physical, mental and social aspects, rather than just looking at the physical symptoms.

The natural health practitioner can play an important role in the process of helping someone achieve better health, but input is also necessary from the client as lifestyle adjustments will sometimes need to be made to complement the work being done by the practitioner.

I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR). This ensures that I work to a strict Code of Practice and Ethics.

Homeopathy

I qualified as a State Registered Nurse. The interest in natural health care began during training and continued until after raising my family when I trained and became a registered homeopath.

Because of my own long-standing back problems I wanted to be able to offer others a gentle hands-on treatment. I've been practising The Bowen Technique for 10 years.

The Bowen Technique is astonishingly effective for many people struggling with musculo-skeletal aches and pains. It is minimal and gentle and follows the less-is-more philosophy of homeopathy. Sometimes it can be helpful to use the 2 treatments in tandem.

I thoroughly enjoy what I do. It's good seeing people re-find their better health. This involves input on their part as well as mine.

Bowen can help all age groups. I've treated babies and people in their nineties. It can also help in some cases of difficulties with conception.
Conventional medicine is beginning to recognise that mind and body are not separate.

Stress can cause physical symptoms

Pain and feeling ill can make us depressed and grumpy

It's a two-way flow

Regaining our health is seldom an overnight event. It takes time, teamwork and patience. It may be necessary to make simple adjustments to life-style in order to regain better health and maintain it.

I am a full member of the Bowen Therapy Professional Association, a member of the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

Homeopathy
My first career was in Personnel Management. I initially dabbled in homeopathy by undertaking a short first aid homeopathy course while living in Worcestershire - I still use that rather battered first aid kit!

This whetted my appetite and so I embarked on the 4 year part time training at the Midlands College of Practical Homeopathy, graduating in 1996. I really enjoyed the direct, one-to-one involvement with clients after the complications of employment law! And I knew I was giving genuine practical help which would really affect the quality of people's lives.

After qualifying I established my homeopathic practice in Evesham, Pershore and Worcester where I worked for 6 years. A family move brought me to Somerset in 2002 and I now practise in Taunton and Wellington. My practice has always been broad-ranging and reflects the health problems that might trouble any of us at different stages of life or when facing different challenges.
I have always enjoyed working with this variety, and I feel that is where homeopathy should be - in the community and in the family, providing safe, gentle and effective treatment which restores health naturally, using the natural resources within us.

I enjoy homeopathic education and helped to run a student homeopaths' clinic for two years, as well as providing supervision to students.

I offer Homeopathic First Aid Courses whenever I can to enable everyone to discover what I discovered nearly 20 years ago - there is something you can do for your own health which is simple, which is effective, and which is holistic.

I would like there to be a homeopathic first aid kit in every home so everyone can manage their health in a positive way.
